2011, a look ahead
The Menahga Arts Guild's goals for 2011:

Winter is when most big ideas are conceived, isn't it?
Nearly a year ago, with the help of Horizons of Menahga,
our arts guild was formed.
Here is a look back at 2010, the first 12 months of the
Menahga Arts Guild.

- January--A group of "concerned citizens" met to discuss the need for an arts group.
- February--We formed the Menahga Arts Guild and identified our mission.
- March--We began monthly meetings on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
- June--We were awarded a $4000 grant from the 5 Wings Arts Council for youth programming.
- June--Youth Art Camp at Menahga School, 40 students led by 6 local artists.
- July--Mid-Summer Craft Festival on Main St. and Arts Guild Exhibit at the Community Center.
- August--We won a MinnPost Community Pride Award at the state fair, $650 & a plaque
- November--Dawn Rossbach designs the Menahga Arts Guild logo.
- December--The Menahga Arts Guild blog starts, and we look forward to 2011!

WHAT IS THE MENAHGA ARTS GUILD?
A community organization of artists and supporters of the arts.
WHAT DO WE DO? Create, promote, share, and encourage local arts, which contributes to the positive cultural and economic climate of the area.
HOW DO WE DO IT? Through art sales, arts workshops, cultural events, and a presence in the community.
FOR WHOM DO WE DO THIS? Our artists, youth, entire community, and our visitors!
