MAG, established 2010

Winter is when most big ideas are conceived, isn't it?
Nearly a year ago, with the help of Horizons of Menahga,
our arts guild was formed.

Here is a look back at 2010, the first 12 months of the
Menahga Arts Guild.
  • January--A group of "concerned citizens" met to discuss the need for an arts group.
  • February--We formed the Menahga Arts Guild and identified our mission.
  • March--We began monthly meetings on the 3rd Tuesday of each month.
  • June--We were awarded a $4000 grant from the 5 Wings Arts Council for youth programming.
  • June--Youth Art Camp at Menahga School, 40 students led by 6 local artists.
  • July--Mid-Summer Craft Festival on Main St. and Arts Guild Exhibit at the Community Center.
  • August--We won a MinnPost Community Pride Award at the state fair, $650 & a plaque
  • November--Dawn Rossbach designs the Menahga Arts Guild logo.
  • December--The Menahga Arts Guild blog starts, and we look forward to 2011!
